Our team of professionals come together to create a unique family with a special bond. And at the core of our relationship is our love for having fun. Not only does this help to make the long work hours during our busy season more bearable, finding ways to have fun throughout the workday also helps to build a sense of teamwork and encourage creativity.
So how do we cut loose when we need a quick break from work? Here are just a few of the many ways we combine hard work with a little play in the Event Central headquarters!
In a creative effort to make fun out of work, we run light-hearted competitions between employees from time to time. One of the more recent examples is seeing who can get the most members of their social network to “like” the Event Central Facebook fan page. This type of competition is simple, accessible to everyone and a great way to take pride in our company by promoting our page to our friends.
Special treats for a job well done
Safety is a really important part of our job. As we’re loading, unloading and setting up trucks full of chairs, tables, tent parts and more, injuries can take place if we’re not paying attention and working together. To encourage the highest level of safety on the job, we prepare our team with the right tools and techniques – and we offer incentive! If we go a few weeks without a service failure or injury, we treat our crew with America’s favorite reward…pizza!
Being headquartered near Harrisburg, we are of course big Senators baseball fans and supporters. Typically a couple of times per season, we invite the company out to a few games where they can kick back and enjoy time together that’s not in the warehouse. It’s awesome to see how personalities will come out when you’re in a new and relaxed environment. These group outings are a great way to build our team spirit in the most natural way possible, by having fun together and getting to personally know one another.
Spending time together in the off-hours
One of the coolest ways our employees have really bonded is that they have created friendships that extend beyond the workplace. Aside from company-planned events, many of our installers enjoy hanging out with each other in the evenings or on the weekends. A few get together to play golf, watch football – and some very adventurous ones even brew their own beer together!
When we spend so many hours of our days in an office with one another, it’s only natural that we begin to form relationships that run deeper than just acquaintances. This makes us even more excited to come to our job everyday and also encourages us to be the best we can be to support a team we care about. And most importantly…when you’re in the party business you NEED to know how to have a little fun!
