Happy Memorial Day! This holiday is what most people regard as the official kickoff to summer and we’re excited for all of the fun festivals and community events that are planned for the Central PA region over the next 3 months.

If you have lived in the area for at least a year, you are likely already familiar with one or more of these celebrations. That’s all the more reason to make sure they are on your calendar again this year to enjoy with family and friends! If you are new to Central PA, make sure you check out some of these local happenings to really get a feel for the fun community spirit we have here.

Let’s take a look at just a few of the many events planned for the Harrisburg area this summer:

ArtsFest – May 23,-25, 2015

Harrisburg PA ArtsFest 2015That’s right, the Harrisburg ArtsFest is going on RIGHT NOW and has been going on all weekend. If you haven’t stopped by Riverfront Park in downtown Harrisburg, there’s still time to do so today. Enjoy Memorial Day with great music, food, crafts and more. Many talented vendors from all over the state and beyond join us at this festival to showcase and sell their creations. This is a great opportunity to pick up a special piece of décor for your home and enjoy a crab cake and carnival fries for lunch!

Harrisburg Music and Wine Festival – June 14-15, 2015

music-and-wineDo you like wine and music? Then this festival is right up your alley! Come out to Fort Hunter Park June 14-15 for the annual Harrisburg Music and Wine Festival. You can enjoy tunes from national and local recording artists amidst a scenic, historical park. Of course there will be wine tastings from some of Central Pennsylvania’s top wineries as well as a fine gathering of wine, craft and food vendors. Tip: bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets!

BrewersFest – June 20, 2015

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central Pennsylvania is the host of this signature festival which is celebrating its 12th year this year. Proceeds benefit the organization which is all the more reason to support the event! There are 70+ products to try and usually 4,000 people attend BrewersFest. Tip: this event sells out (quickly) every year, so buy your tickets as soon as possible!

Harrisburg Family Fun Festival/4th of July Festival – Fourth of July Weekend, 2015

There will be music, food, vendors, activities for kids and of course baseball and fireworks! Best of all, the fireworks can be seen from various locations all around the city, so bring a blanket and scout out your viewing location early.

Kipona Festival – Labor Day Weekend, 2015

Much like the ArtsFest and Family Fun Festival, Kipona offers music, vendors, food and activities for all ages.
