With the celebration of Labor Day, we’ve officially said goodbye to summer and hello to all things fall! For all the brides and grooms out there who are planning a fall wedding, whether it’s this year or next, it’s time to get inspired by the season. Take a look at these three core areas where you can beautifully incorporate elements of fall into your big day.
A fall wedding gives you the opportunity to use deep, bold colors that would be far too heavy for spring or summer. Dark violets, auburn and mahogany tones are elegant choices that can be complemented with earthy neutral tones or even silver and gold. To keep all of the elements of your wedding looking cohesive, start by selecting your color palette. Then, everything you choose, like dresses, flowers, linens and centerpieces can play off of this same palette.
There are so many uses for flowers on your wedding day! From the bridal bouquet to the centerpieces at your reception, there are a lot of choices to make. Unlike the flowers typically used for spring and summer weddings, your fall flower selection is completely unique. Embrace the season by opting for sunflowers, pussy willows or goldenrod in your flower arrangements. You can even go one step further by incorporating leaves and acorns, too!
When planning a fall wedding, don’t forget to give a nod to the season in your menu selection. There are two flavors that we all tend to think of when it comes to a crisp fall day that’s pumpkin and apple. You can choose to incorporate these tasteful ingredients into a desert or even some breads to offer guests, or go in a different direction and incorporate these spices into an amazing signature wedding drink. Either way, your pumpkin cupcake or apple spiced rum is sure to be a hit and add that special touch to your fall wedding.
