Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance ------A wonderful group of area shelters and rescue organizations working together to save the lives of dogs, cats and other companion animals.

Woofstock 2009 was another  ”Barking” success, drawing over 1000 dogs of every breed, size and temperament.  Situated at Harrisburg’s Riverfront Park between the Civic Club and the Walnut street bridge with nearly 100 vendors, products included everything from dog clothes, food, snacks, trainers, neuter clinics, shampooers, nail clippers, birthday party hats, and on and on.

Woofstock Harrisburg is held the third Saturday of September at Riverfront Park

Since Chief does not have his own _mg_2220transportation, Jill and I took him to Woofstock, so he could man, ‘er “dog”,  the booth, along with several other volunteers for the Capital Area Greenbelt Trail.  Chief’s job was to greet the visiting dogs and share stories of his many experiences walking the Greenbelt.

We arrived early so we could check out the Stage Cover (20 x 20 tent on 9 ft 07woofstock1legs) installed at Kunkle Plaza as the main entertainment stage, as well as the podium for announcing winners of the Grateful Dog Walk fundraiser, winners of the Raffle, and various other activities.07woofstock-91
If you are interested in helping “Rescues”, or would actually like to help a certain breed, I urge you to look over CPAA’s RESCUE PARTNERS, made of good people who are furthering the cause of “No more Homeless Pets”.

For those who might be willing to donate time or money to CPAA, check out all the possibilities at their website http://www.cpaa.info/give.html  .

Meanwhile at the Capital Area Greenbelt booth:

Chief and Jill Rondeau, Past President of the Greenbelt wait for passers-by…

When a family walks by, Chief greets the new friend with a sniff and invites them in to look  at the Greenbelt map. The map shows the 22 mile linear park trail which runs entirely on the East Shore, connecting about 15 parks in various townships, Harrisburg City, county property, HACC, and State Hospital Grounds.

Hey, they let you “Little Guys” in too?

Chief and I head off to the Tented Stage to watch The Grateful Dog Walk awards presentation for fund raising, as well as one of the many scheduled music groups who played throughout the day.

And finally at the end of a long day,  relaxing for a much needed rest.

Martin Luther King Memorial Dedication on Capital Area Greenbelt

Note: Capital Area Greenbelt is a 22-mile trail connecting multiple Harrisburg Communities, State grounds and County grounds into a continuous loop which includes the 5 Senses Garden,   Springhouse on Paxtang Parkway, and Harrisburg Waterfront, among others.

Scott and Event Central Staff,
Just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for your outstanding service and for helping to  pull our organization out of a jam with grace and style! Our event, The Capital Area Greenbelt Association’s dedication of a monument to the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came about much more quickly than we’d anticipated. Community response was overwhelming! Before we knew it, the success was breeding more success and we found ourselves in need of a podium and a great deal of seating.. and we needed it to be discreetly delivered to a serene, quiet, but maybe a little out-of-the-way location along the Greenbelt trail. There were local and international dignitaries to be in attendance that must be accommodated !
What to do ??
Enter: Event Central! The delivery and set up of all the seating was accomplished quickly on a chilly morning and everything fell in to place perfectly ! It was an amazing day full of moving oratory, hope, promise and inspiring thought, prayer and song. We couldn’t have done it without you!! Then, following the event, the pick up by Dwayne was expedient and professional. We can’t thank you enough for working with us with a last minute notice and for all the tips given that contributed to the success of our dedication!

 Warm Regards,
Jill Rondeau, President
Capital Area Greenbelt Association
p.s. we were fortunate to get some great photos of the event too.. enjoy !!
